Functional, Original & Imaginative Pottery

Thom’s education in art is from the University of Akron., While pursuing both photography and design, his inspiration and desire to create is something he has found naturally, on a daily basis, since childhood.

He is drawn to and inspired by nature and his surroundings and views his work as a vehicle in communicating and expressing those feelings into something tangible that others may get pleasure from.

Thom’s work also produces functional, wheel thrown pieces, but his passion lies with handwork methods, the most primitive and individual of techniques, where pieces are constructed from slab, ropes, and balls of clay.  No two pieces of pottery will be exactly the same.  All vessels are created from high fire white or brown clay bodies, using an assortment of earth tones, crystal glazes, and accents.

Traditional to non-traditional, functional to hand sculptured, all imaginative renderings are reasonably priced for your enjoyment.

Sculptures, Vessels, and Pottery can be found locally at Standing Rock Gallery, Imagine That Studio, A Flower A Day and available through www.scalapottery.com.
